The year is nearly over, and as we prepare ourselves for a Warhammer-filled 2026 there’s one question burning in our minds – what army are we picking for the new year? Well, whatever you choose, we’ve come up with two great challenges for Warhammer fans worldwide. One is about challenging yourself, and the other is aimed at growing the community with friends and family.
Our first challenge is one with a lofty goal – the Million Miniatures Challenge. It’s exactly how it sounds, we want to see one million painted Warhammer miniatures. Taking part is simple: head down to your local Warhammer store from the 17th of January and pledge to paint 25+, 50+, or 100+ miniatures by the 9th of May. Faction, game system, and size of miniatures doesn’t matter, it’s just how many you can paint. But it’s extra impressive if your numbers include the likes of Fulgrim, Stompas, and Archaon.
Every pledge will be recorded on the store’s hub poster, and you’ll get a bespoke activity card to fill out your commitment and your continuing progress. As you hit your milestones, you’ll be awarded with a series of cool gifts at the Million Miniature celebration event on Saturday 9th May. You’ll get a One Million Miniatures pin badge for 25+ miniatures, a purity seal water pot stand for 50+, and a paint brush tin for 100+.*
One million miniatures is a big number to reach, even across every Warhammer store involved.** Even with hundreds of prolific painters involved, everyone will need all the help they can get, which is where the second challenge comes in. Call to Arms is your invitation to help introduce someone new to the exciting and creative world of Warhammer.
Customers can ask for a double-sided tracking card, and can earn stickers for bringing a friend or family member with them to the store and helping them get started. When these referrals pick up starter sets for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, or a Combat Patrol or Spearhead box, they’ll earn the person who referred them even more stickers!
Call to Arms starts on the 3rd of January 2026, so anyone you introduce to the hobby will have time to make their pledge to One Million Miniatures, and the celebration day is 30th of May. You’ll earn a Bronze sticker by introducing one new person to the Warhammer hobby, and that’ll also get you a pin badge. Helping three people start the hobby will get you a Silver sticker, along with a gaming dashboard. Introduce five people to the hobby to secure a Gold sticker and a brush holder for your desk.*
If your local Warhammer store’s anniversary also falls within the first five months of the year, you’ll be able to dovetail introducing friends and family to Warhammer and making a painting pledge with picking up next year’s Commemorative Series store anniversary miniatures, which we'll be revealing soon.
* Awards are cumulative and available while stocks last.
** Our extremely rough estimations suggest that 10,000 people need to do 100 miniatures each, or that 40,000 people need to do 25… we reckon the Warhammer community can smash that!
