A new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy is on its way. Weapon rules are changing, Tactical Statuses realise the disorientating whirr of battle while dramatic challenges let your favourite characters duke it out in high-stakes duels. Before then though, new Tarantula sentry platforms and – dare we say it – slinky little Rapiers are available for pre-order tomorrow.
The Warhammer Design Studio likes to run hobby challenges, as previously seen with the release of the new plastic Mechanicum miniatures, and this time they’ve set themselves the task of painting up this heavy firepower.
Connor painted up two sets – one as the Sons of Horus and the other as Luna Wolves. His work is joined by Mark, Lewis, David and Ben L above who have painted an assortment of Legions.
A second diverse array of platforms is provided by Dominik, Dan, Chris D, Ben W and Graham.
Rapiers have the advantage of coming with a set of crew, giving our hobbyists something extra to sink their teeth into for this challenge. This crop is painted by Les, Jesse, James, Graham, David and Ben L.

All of the above miniatures, bar a few choice conversions to the crew attending the Rapiers are available to pre-order on Saturday. They’re the perfect reinforcements ahead of the new Saturnine box.
