Sunday Preview – The Idoneth Deepkin breach the waves

As the summer sun beats down and we stroll along the beach, what do we see wading out from the waves but an extremely pale aelf. Turns out, the Idoneth Deepkin are mounting another series of devastating raids on the Mortal Realms in this week’s Sunday Preview. Let’s tag along.

Battletome: Idoneth Deepkin

Fated to waste away unless they steal the life-essence of mortals, the Idoneth Deepkin dwell in the deepest seas of the Mortal Realms, only emerging to conduct bloody raids to secure the future of their race. With Battletome: Idoneth Deepkin you can take command of these nautical reavers and the oceanic beasts they use to do battle. This 98-page book contains a comprehensive background for the Idoneth, alongside their rules and warscrolls, battle traits, battle formations, heroic traits, and artefacts of power, plus spell and manifestation lores. Rules for a new Spearhead, Regiments of Renown, and Armies of Renown are also included, alongside rules for Path to Glory.

You will also be able to pre-order a more portable package with the Gamer’s Edition of Battletome: Idoneth Deepkin, which contains all the same content and comes with a full set of 37 reference cards covering your warscrolls, faction rules, Spearhead rules, and your Regiment and Army of Renown rules. This version will be available while stocks last.

Ikon of the Sea

The Idoneth Deepkin battle with all the fury of the ocean, but few exemplify this as effectively as the Ikon of the Sea. Channeling both the foreboding depths of the sea and its surging tides, these Akhelian warriors leap into combat and pull their allies along in the ensuing riptide. This miniature can also be built as an Ikon of the Storm – a savage warrior who embodies the ocean’s most furious aspect.

Mathaela, Oracle of the Abyss

A paragon of the Isharann – the soul scryers and sorcerers of the Idoneth – Mathaela resides in the deepest abyss of Ghyran, emerging only recently to protect the soul-reefs of their people. In battle they wield the power of the abyss against their foes, and whip the denizens of the deep into a bloodthirsty frenzy.

Idoneth Deepkin: Manifestations

By risking their lives to give the raging spirit of the ocean corporeal form, Idoneth Deepkin sorcerers can bring into being an Incarnate of the Deep. Lashing out with the power of a tempest, ensnaring foes in its Abyssal Tendrils, and crushing unlucky prey with the pressure of the deep, this oceanic manifestation is an awe-inspiring sight.

Isharann Soulscryer

Using their eldritch powers to find rich sources of soul-energy to exploit, the Isharann Soulscryer uses a cyfar compass in battle to read the depths of their foes’ souls, singling out their most vital targets.

Their navigation skills also extend to traversing the deep, utilising hidden oceanic pathways so that allies may ambush their foes more easily. This miniature was previously only available in the current Idoneth Deepkin Spearhead, and is now available to purchase separately.

Spearhead: Akhelian Tide Guard

The royalty of the Akhelian warrior caste never venture into battle without their loyal bodyguards, known as the Tide Guard. This blisteringly fast Spearhead force is centered around an Akhelian King – who is monstrous in combat – and consists of a unit of Akhelian Ishlaen Guard, a unit of Akhelian Morrsarr Guard, and 10 Namarti Reavers. They work in unison to protect their liege and destroy their foes, as the Akhelian King inspires his warriors with displays of combat prowess.

Idoneth Deepkin Warscroll Cards and Dice Set

Remain composed and as placid as the depths with the help of a set of Idoneth Deepkin warscroll cards, which contains 27 handy reference cards covering your warscrolls and Spearhead cards for the Akhelian Tide Guard. You can also further immerse yourself in the ethersea with a set of 16 Idoneth Deepkin dice, which are frosted blue, with dark blue pips and the Idoneth Deepkin faction icon on the six face.

White Dwarf 514

The final of four White Dwarf issues focused on the Ruinous Powers is almost here, and this time the star of the show is Tzeentch. Issue 514 is a deep dive into the shifting, labyrinthine world of the Changer of the Ways, with more findings from the Grey Knights, coverage of the eternal rivalry between Tzeentch and Nurgle, plus a new Combat Patrol with daemonic elements and an Army of Renown with Legends rules.
You can also read a report on the Grand Narrative that took place at Warhammer World last year, get even more details on the design of the miniatures for Grand Cathay, and read the next instalment of the Trials of Albarak by James Brogden. On top of that, there’s loads of great Warhammer content including more from the Bunker.*

Skaven Deathmaster Plush

From our licensed partners at TOMY comes a deadly member of the Clans Eshin, a perfidious Deathmaster in plush form. Soft-soft, but still with that frisson of stab-kill that you want from the shadowy Skaven assassins, this Deathmaster plush is the perfect sentry for your desk or shelf.

With the warriors of Fenris preparing to run amok across the galaxy, you probably have a big old pile of cold blue power armour to paint. This week’s Citadel Colour Masterclass is all about recreating the iconic Space Wolves power armour.

If your appetite for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy hasn’t been sated by the dozens of articles on Warhammer Community, you can go even further with an episode of Loremasters all about the purging of the Loyalists on Isstvan III – the event which truly announced the treachery of the Warmaster to the Imperium. Finally, Victory Pointers returns with an episode all about navigating the General’s Handbook 2025-26, including how to build your army around the new Battle Tactics, and how to best deal with the new battleplans.

On Warhammer Community next week we have a blood-soaked new reveal, more rules coverage for the new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, a deeper dive into the contents of White Dwarf 514, and plenty more.
