Sunday Preview – Ultramarines, Terminators, and Da Red Gobbo

Even though his Primarch is back in action, Marneus Calgar can’t afford to rest on his laurels. Roboute Guilliman has an entire Imperium to organise, after all, so it’s time the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines got back out into the galaxy. A new miniature decked out in the Armour of Antilochus is on the way, along with his elite Victrix Guard commanded by Cato Sicarius, and a whole box full of Terminators.

Oh, and Da Red Gobbo is back for another festive go-around. Just, be careful around his new Tinboy, we doubt it’s had any safety checks.

Battleforce: Crux Terminatus*

Crush the enemy with a force entirely built of the toughest, strongest, most experienced Space Marines around – the mighty Terminators. The Crux Terminatus battleforce is the first place to get the brand new Assault Terminators, which come with enough options to build two sets of five with either thunder hammers and storm shields,or a pair of lethal lightning claws – making ten Assault Terminators in total.

Alongside this unstoppable wall of ceramite you also get the new Ancient in Terminator Armour miniature, who flies an impressive standard, a multi-part Terminator Captain, a Terminator Chaplain, and five regular multi-part Terminators.

You also get a new Space Marines Terminator transfer sheet, containing 579 transfers. This box will be available only while stocks last.

Marneus Calgar in Armour of Antilochus

The greatest Ultramarine besides the Primarch himself, Marneus Calgar is equally potent a warrior on the battlefield as he is a leader in the command bunker. While he often deploys in an artificer-crafted suit of Gravis armour, he has also been known to still wear the ancient Armour of Antilochus. This relic Terminator armour suit incorporates the Gauntlets of Ultramar – and Calgar operates it with enough agility that he can join almost any infantry squad the Ultramarines choose to field in battle.

Cato Sicarius

No longer leading the Second Company, Cato Sicarius has taken up perhaps an even more prestigious role – the commander of the Ultramarines’ honoured Victrix Guard. His skill with his trusted Talassarian tempest blade lets him fight in three distinct ways during close combat, each one tailored for a different kind of enemy, be they hordes of chaff or deadly champions.

This multi-part plastic miniature comes with two head options – one shouting, and one stoically observing the battlefield.

Victrix Honour Guard

Defend your heroes and champions with the legendary Victrix Honour Guard, a band of veteran Ultramarines chosen to safeguard the Chapter’s officers with their lives in the heat of battle. Each kit builds three Victrix Guard with interchangeable heads, arms and greaves, with the option of building one as a Chapter Champion armed with blades of honour, and one as a Chapter Ancient carrying a massive Banner of Macragge.

Victrix Guard can be deployed as a unit of six, and as such two boxes will contain enough parts to build either six regular squad members or four – with unique combinations of leg and arm poses – plus the Chapter Champion and Chapter Ancient.

Ultramarines Upgrades and Transfers*

Give your warriors of Macragge the glow up they deserve with a new set of Ultramarines Upgrades and Transfers, containing a vast assortment of optional parts to give your miniatures some additional character. Each set includes the following parts:

Combat Patrol: Ultramarines*

You get Chief Librarian Tigurius, three Aggressors, three Bladeguard Veterans, five Reivers, and five Intercessors, as well as the full Upgrades and Transfers set mentioned above, giving you a balanced and durable force that can get stuck in to both ranged combat and close combat.

Ultramarines Dice Set

Finish off your Ultramarines expeditionary force with a set of matching dice, approved by the Lord Commander himself. You get 16 six-sided dice cast in pearlised blue plastic with gold ink pips and the symbol of the Ultramarines on the six face – perfect for defending Ultramar alongside Marneus, Cato, and the gang.

Archon

Lead your kabals on a vicious realspace raid with the new multi-part plastic Archon, bristling with options to customise your merciless commander. Each kit comes with two torso options, two collars, a choice of blast pistol, splinter pistol or iconic soul trap for your right arm choice, a choice of agoniser, huskblade or master-crafted power weapon for the left arm, and three different heads, so you can create the Archon of your dreams – or nightmares – to reap a healthy harvest of captives for the arenas.

Chaos Space Marines Repacks

Three kits previously seen in Kill Team will now be available in Warhammer 40,000 packaging. The Chaos Space Marine Legionaries builds a unit of 10 fearsome Heretic Astartes with 18 head options, 22 interchangeable shoulder pads, an assortment of special and heavy weapons, and enough parts to equip the squad for either ranged or melee combat. The box also comes with a Chaos Space Marines transfer sheet.

The Traitor Guardsmen kit builds 10 scrappy warriors including parts for a squad Sergeant with either a chainsword, close combat weapon, or power sword, and a choice of corrupted pistols. Up to three Traitor Guardsmen can be assembled with one of the following weapons: grenade launcher, sniper rifle, plasma gun, meltagun, or flamer.

Also available is the Traitor Enforcer with their Ogryn bodyguard, lending discipline and punching power to units they join.*

Da Red Gobbo’s Tinboy

Christmas is coming, and Da Red Gobbo is back to his usual antics – delivering explosive gifts to anyone foolish enough to leave their chimneys open. This time he’s riding onto the scene in a clanking mechanical Tinboy that looks suspiciously like a Vostroyan soldier, and woe betide any who try to stop him from distributing festive cheer to all the good boys and girls of the 41st Millennium.

This miniature will only be available while stocks last, so make sure to get yours post-haste!

The Relentless Dead

The faceless regiments of the Death Korps of Krieg are unrelenting in their pursuit of victory, and they’ll need to double down on their die-hard determination in The Relentless Dead by Steve Lyons – the next Death Korps novel after Dead Men Walking captured the bleak horror of life in a Krieg trench line.

Colonel Graven of the 401st Krieg Regiment has been tasked with finding a missing inquisitor in an endless warren of bone caverns wracked by Chaos plagues, but the dead are stirring, and down in the labyrinthine darkness his kill team comes face to face with unspeakable horrors. Adding to it all, the colonel has ghosts of his own to battle, and his lingering doubt could be the death of him.

The Relentless Dead is available to pre-order next week in regular hardback, eBook, and audiobook editions, as well as a sombre special edition that adds the short story The Forge and comes wrapped in a stylish monochrome, canvas-effect cover, with printed page edges, and a brown ribbon place marker with a barbed wire design running down it. This special edition will be available strictly while stocks last.

Da Red Gobbo’s Last Stand

When his band of Freeboota grots are ordered onto a recently discovered space hulk, Bodgit knows that the odds of survival are slim – after all, it’s tough enough to get through the average day, let alone one aboard a haunted wreck filled with monsters. To add to his misery, the infamous Kaptin Bludhook is out to make his life a living hell! Bodgit’s days are numbered – unless he can embrace the spirit of Da Red Gobbo and rise above his lowly status to outwit Bludhook.

Da Red Gobbo’s Last Stand is a new novel by Andi Ewington, and will be available to pre-order next week in hardback and eBook editions.

Da Red Gobbo Collection

The adventures of Da Red Gobbo are many and varied, and wherever grotkind are downtrodden and in need of a Revolushun, he will (sometimes) appear. Delve into the deep history of this mysterious figure in Da Red Gobbo Collection, combining three novellas and two short stories into a riotous package of anarchic fun – Da Gobbo's Revenge by Mike Brooks, Da Gobbo's Demise and Da Wrong Type of Green by Denny Flowers, and

Da Gobbo Rides Again and The Instigator by Rhuairidh James.

This action-packed collection will be available to pre-order in paperback in English, French, and German languages, as well as eBook editions for French and German readers.

Death and Duty

For all of their firepower and limitless numbers, the true strength of the Astra Militarum lies in the courage of its Guardsmen, as ordinary men and women stand up to the unimaginable horrors of the 41st Millennium day after day – and win. Celebrating the valour that keeps the Imperium from sliding into chaos, Death and Duty is a compilation of 12 short stories from a variety of Black Library authors focusing on the humans on the front line, including three new stories: The Redoubt by John Sollitto, Resounding by Russell Zimmerman, and Worm of Valhalla by Tom R Pike.

Death and Duty will be available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook editions.

Double Eagle and Interceptor City

Take to the skies with a double helping of high-flying Warhammer 40,000 fiction as the classic novels Double Eagle and Interceptor City by Dan Abnett return in paperback editions. Double Eagle finds the planet of Enothis on the brink of ruin as Chaos forces sweep across its beleaguered surface, and the elite fighter pilots of the Phantine XX are the only ones who can turn the tide – so long as they can avoid becoming the Chaos ace Khrel Kas Obarkon’s next kill tally.

Two decades after the events of Double Eagle, a veteran pilot of the Phantine Air Corps is forced out of retirement when the hive city of Vesperus comes under attack in the sequel Interceptor City. Bree Jagdea is none too pleased to be back in the fray after a cosy life piloting supply transports, especially now that she’s been seconded to the infamous Circus 66 squadron – notorious for their death-defying missions and lethal interceptions through Vesperus’ rat runs.

No Peace Among Stars

So named for the chilling quote that ends ‘only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods’ – which encapsulates the 41st Millennium in a nutshell – No Peace Among Stars is an anthology of 16 short stories from a wide variety of Black Library authors, telling tales of the Space Marines, Astra Militarum, and Mechanicum as they fight to defend the Imperium.

This collection of new stories will be available to pre-order next week in paperback and eBook editions.

Lelith Hesperax: Queen of Knives (German Edition)

An assassin’s blade drags Lelith Hesperax back to the Dark City for a blood-soaked return to form in the German language release of Mike Brooks’s Lelith Hesperax: Queen of Knives. Pretenders to Lelith’s crown have infested the arena in her absence, and with Asdrubael Vect himself pulling the strings of a murderous game, her blades may not be enough to save her this time. It will be available to pre-order next week , in hardback and eBook editions.
