World Championships of Warhammer Balance Updates

The World Championships of Warhammer is less than three weeks away!

This November nearly 1,000 players from 50 countries will descend on Atlanta, USA, for Warhammer’s most prestigious event. Friendships will be forged! Battles will be fought! Balance updates will be utilised!

…Wait, what was that last bit?

Each year, a few weeks out from the event rules cutoff date, we send attendees early drafts of upcoming updates, FAQs, and Errata that are slated for release prior to the World Championships, so they are fully prepared for the games to come. After all, if you’ve battled your way across the world to reach the World Championships, we wouldn’t want you to arrive at the airport to find the rules have changed.

Army painting is also an important element for country scoring and some individual awards, so it also ensures people who want to make miniature changes have time for that too.

Of course, the final balance updates will be coming to the Warhammer Community website and the various official apps as scheduled in the coming weeks. Translating these documents into multiple languages and negotiating with the machine spirits of the apps takes a little time, which is why we haven't released them in full yet.

But this year, we thought we'd give everyone a look at the documents the WCW players get sent – perfect if you want to follow along with our livestreamed coverage throughout the weekend.

Now, please bear in mind, these latest updates aren’t matched play approved yet (outside of the World Championships!).  There might be a few typos or tweaks that need to be made ahead of the final versions being released. We’ll have all the news and information here on Warhammer Community when they’re out.

Many of you will notice there’s no Warhammer 40,000 update there – that’s because the quarterly balance dataslate and other updates were released to the masses just last month.

We’ll have plenty more on the World Championships of Warhammer here on WarCom in the coming weeks – and you can join us for LIVE rolling coverage from the 6th to the 9th of November, where we’ll be taking you into the heart of the action on the event floor.

And if you want to be at the World Championships yourself next year, there’s no better time to start planning your army for the next big event. Golden Ticket events for the 2026 World Championships are just around the corner!
