The new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy has finally been revealed, but that doesn’t mean everything else is on hold. A bountiful new season of Matched Play battles is blossoming in Warhammer Age of Sigmar, while Spearhead takes a detour to the sterile and stagnant Realm of Death with a new gaming pack and four new Spearheads.
In Warhammer: The Old World, the Beastmen Brayherds rise up from the wilderness and strike at the heart of all that is good and proper, while a small contingent of elves use the ensuing Chaos to make themselves known. Finally, fans of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game can look forward to a new supplement expanding army options, some fantastic new miniatures, and key returning units. It’s a packed week of pre-orders, so let's get stuck in.

General's Handbook 2025-2026

A new season of slaughter and warfare in the Mortal Realms is at hand with the impending release of the General's Handbook 2025-2026. This is the new guide for Matched Play in Warhammer Age of Sigmar – both competitive and casual – which implements a suite of rules changes, a new take on Battle Tactics, and season rules that have a distinctly Ghyranic feel. More than just a book this time, the General’s Handbook is a box containing a 72-page book, a set of six double-sided Battle Tactics cards, a set of six double-sided Battleplan cards, a rules reference card, and 13 double-sided Universal Manifestations warscroll cards. Also included is a set of six objective markers for the new season – two Oakenbrow, two Gnarlroot, one Winterleaf, and one Heartwood, each with a non-slip backing.
Spearhead: Sand & Bone Gaming Pack

While the General’s Handbook takes inspiration from the verdant Realm of Life, Spearhead shifts instead to the stagnant Realm of Death with the Sand & Bone gaming pack. This set contains six terrain pieces themed around Shyish, and a double-sided board representing both Dolorum and Ossia. The 24-page Spearhead: Sand & Bone book contains the new battlepack for Spearhead (you will still need a copy of the core rules to play), and rules for four new Spearhead forces. A set of 36 Spearhead cards are included and required to play, featuring six Twist cards each for the Ossia and Dolorum sides of the board, and two decks of 12 Battle Tactic cards.
Spearhead: Sunblooded Prowlers

An auspicious astral confluence sacred to the Old Ones has brought together a varied and adaptable hunting pack of Seraphon known as the Sunblooded Prowlers. Mixing stealth and savage might, this Spearhead is led by the Sunblood Pack, with a scaly core of 10 Saurus Warriors, two units of five Hunters of Huanchi, three airborne Terrawings and a hot-blooded Spawn of Chotec who hurls globs of flaming acid to weaken the group’s prey.
Spearhead: Fusil-platoon

The mobile gunnery brigade known as the Fusil-platoon is one of the Cities of Sigmar’s more flexible deployments, making great use of swift skirmishers to tie up enemy units while long-ranged blackpowder guns take aim. A Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk acts as commander and spotter, while an Alchemite Warforger is on hand to empower the melee weapons of a unit of 11 roving Wildercorps Hunters as two units of five Freeguild Fusiliers hang back and unload their devastating salvos. This box also contains two Cities of Sigmar transfer sheets, each featuring 410 transfers.
Spearhead: Mortisan Elite

Some of the greatest inventions and adaptations made by the order of the Ossifectors have been developed under the pressure of battle, and the Mortisan Elite is a cadre of veteran constructs deployed to smash aside foes while honing their violent forms. Three Immortis Guard, three Necropolis Stalkers and two Morghast Archai are observed in combat by a Mortisan Ossifector, who makes necessary adjustments to his creations mid-battle.
Spearhead: Scrapglutt

Ogors are renowned for their eternal hunger, but some hunters are just as obsessed with turning discarded wreckage into lethal weapons… and then using them to hack their enemies into bite-sized morsels. The Scrapglutt is led by an Ogor Mantrapper who brings a loyal Frost Sabre to battle with him while on the look out for discarded junk. In his stead follow two units of two Ironguts, a beefier unit of four Ironguts, a weedy gang of 12 Gnoblars, and the massive Gnoblar Scraplauncher they use to make up for their small stature.

Arcane Journal: Beastmen Brayherds

Supplement the Beastmen Brayherds army list from the Ravening Hordes book with Arcane Journal: Beastmen Brayherds, a 48-page supplement packed with additional background lore and rules. Rules for two named characters – Kralmaw, the Prophet of Ruin and Ghorros Warhoof – accompany a tale of woe in Westerland as winter descends and isolated communities fall prey to rampaging hordes of beastmen. This book also includes rules for two new Armies of Infamy, and will be available to pre-order in both physical softback and digital ePub editions.
Beastmen Brayherds Battalion

Trample the Old World beneath your cloven hooves with the Beastmen Brayherds Battalion boxed set, including 61 plastic miniatures to kickstart your army. Two units of 15 Gors with the choice of two hand weapons or hand weapons and shields form a sturdy core for your force, while 30 Ungors ambush from the wings with spears, hand weapons, or bows. Finally, a massive Ghorgon crushes entire regiments underfoot and swallows unfortunate warriors whole, and it can also be built as a rock-flinging Cygor with a particular taste for enemy Wizards.
Kralmaw, the Prophet of Ruin

Among those few Bray-Shamans blessed with the gift of foresight, none elicit such fear and enmity as Kralmaw, the Prophet of Ruin. This blind and wizened beastmen is nonetheless a powerful Wizard and commands great respect among his Brayherd for his mastery of Dark and Primal magic.
This brand new named character is cast in Forge World resin, and comes with a Leering Spirit marker that Kralmaw can use to cast the Devolve spell far across the battlefield.
Returning Beastmen Brayherds Lords

The returning hordes of the Beastmen are led by vicious and capable heroes, now coming back to the range to command your armies. Plastic Chieftains and Bray-Shamans add martial and magical might in equal measure, while the Forge World resin Doombull provides a bloodhungry commander for your blocks of Minotaurs.
Returning Beastmen Brayherds Infantry
Herds of powerful Ungors, Gors and Bestigors make up the bulk of a Brayherd’s forces, massing in great numbers to prey upon civilised lands. Minotaurs can meanwhile take on the toughest enemies in the Old World.
Returning Beastmen Brayherds Monsters
Sometimes the Brayherd produces truly monstrous abominations, which the Beastmen readily put to use causing devastation on the battlefield. The Cockatrice swoops over enemy lines turning men to stone with its petrifying gaze, while Cygors – which can be alternately built as Ghorgons – hurl ensorcelled boulders at the enemy and Jabberslythes stalk around for prey, so repugnant to look upon that they drive onlookers mad.
The Cockatrice and Jabberslythe are cast in Forge World resin and the Cygor plastic.
Returning Metal Beastmen Brayherds Miniatures
Ghoros Warhoof was blessed by the Ruinous Powers with unnatural longevity and he has used this time to get drunk and fight, leading hordes of violent Centigors into battle. He returns in metal alongside the Centigor Lord, a set of five Centigors, and a separate set of five Centigors with command options. The primal onslaught of the Brayherds is supported by savage linebreaking Tuskgor Chariots – with plastic boars and a set of paper banners – while Razorgors bulldoze through enemy lines as a mass of muscle covered in spines and barbs.
Beastmen Brayherds Reference Cards and Dice

Beastmen armies can be a chaotic rabble, so keep all of their useful rules close with this handy set of 36 reference cards covering all the unique magic items, spells, and Chaos Mutations found in the Ravening Hordes book. Prince Imrahil™ of Dol Amroth™

None embody the ancient valour and honour of Gondor quite like Prince Imrahil, leader of the Swan Knights of Dol Amroth and half-brother to Denethor. Corsairs of Umbar™ Ballista

Every Umbar raiding ship is lined with rows of deadly ballistas, designed to be uprooted from their decks and carried onto land when the Corsairs begin their raids against Gondor’s coastal settlements. Against them stands three metal Khazad-dûm™ Dwarven Commanders – one Captain, one War Horn bearer, and one Banner bearer – and a resin Khazad-dûm™ Dwarven Ballista with two crew.
The metal Beregond™, Guard of the Citadel mans the walls to defend Minas Tirith accompanied by a resin Gondor Avenger Bolt Thrower.
Finally, the metal Woses of Drúadan Forest™ set collects 15 Woses warriors split across three different designs with Ghân-buri-Ghân™, a Hero of Valour and the leader of these secretive forest-dwelling people.

Space Wolves: The Young Wolf

Ragnar Blackmane is one of the most famous Wolf Lords, Jarl of his own Great Company, and possessed of a berserk rage that he can tap into to slaughter his enemies. It was not always so however, and the Space Wolves trilogy by William King tells the story of an impetuous whelp being recruited from the tribes of Fenris and forged into a legendary warrior via the fires of war. Collected in a numbered matte-finish slipcase, Space Wolves: The Young Wolf contains three novels: Space Wolf (with introduction by Dan Abnett), Ragnar’s Claw, and Grey Hunter, each with yellow cloth covers, screen printed art and black ribbon bookmarks.
Cult of the Spiral Dawn

In the vast galaxy there are more ways to worship the God-Emperor than have been counted, and the Spiral Dawn is one of countless sanctioned cults. One sect makes pilgrimage to the shrine world of Redemption, the birthplace of this unique order, but instead of finding a place of enlightenment they discover a cruel, soot-choked world where their leaders coexist uneasily with an unorthodox Astra Militarum regiment. There is more to this relationship than meets the eye, and it unravels piece by piece in Cult of the Spiral Dawn by Peter Fehervari, which is available to pre-order in audiobook format.
The Horus Heresy: Collection XVI (French Edition)

French readers can look forward to expanding their collections with the 16th instalment of the omnibus series, which features books 46, 47 and 47 of the Horus Heresy. Collection XVI brings together Ruinstorm by David Annandale, Old Earth by Nick Kyme, and The Burden of Loyalty, an anthology featuring stories by Dan Abnett, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, John French and more. This collection will be available to pre-order in both paperback and eBook formats.

A new animation stomps into view on Warhammer TV this week: the earth-shaking Kill Lupercal. Set during the final hours of the apocalyptic Siege of Terra, the crew of the Warlord Titan Aurora Ferrum are torn between two choices – come to the aid of a group of Loyalist Titans locked in combat, or follow a signal which a Princeps believes is the Warmaster Horus himself. To find out what they decide to do, you’ll need to tune in next week.

That’s not all that’s this week, as another season of shows comes to an end with three special episodes. In Open Play the team are testing their mettle in Escapologic’s Immaterium escape room, attempting to repair faults to their ship before a Warp storm tears it apart. Two teams of hobbyists attempt to prove themselves the smartest across six rounds of questions in a new episode of Brainboyz, while others from the team take part in the Black Library Book Club which is focused on The Hollow King by John French.

Next week we will be standing pensively on the blighted shores outside Warhammer Community Towers, watching the shift in the Mortal Realms as the Scourge of Ghyran comes to a close and a pelagic secret bubbles to the surface. Alongside that, there will be a series of roundtable discussions on the Beastmen Brayherds, some delectable lore posts about The Horus Heresy, a balance update for Warhammer Underworlds, and some designer’s commentary to accompany the new Armies of Middle-earth™ rules supplement.
