It’s all action on Necromunda right now as the mysterious Ozostium Aranthus has stolen the throne from Lord Helmawr, and the gangs are battling for scraps in the ensuing mayhem. You can find out exactly what happens in the upcoming Aranthian Succession: Spire of Primus book, which is available for pre-order now.
Some of the Warhammer Studio took advantage of the upcoming release to paint a selection of the new miniatures ahead of release. You can enjoy the results below.
Paul: Inspired by Ozostium's particularly gothic aesthetic, I thought I'd complement the Divine Prince with a base that mixed grimdark future with a touch of classical horror. I swapped out his scenic base with one suggestive of an ancient technological laboratory or resting place that was suited to his back story.
Lu: I chose to forgo putting all of the armour plating onto my model as I wanted the very raw and imperfect look of Ozostium to shine through. I also reposed the arm and damaged some of the other components to reinforce this idea. I then painted him up in a colour scheme I felt still had that noble vibe, but a bit darker and more gritty than usual, to keep the whole piece in theme.
Adam: I was really interested in painting some models which expanded the lore and background of Necromunda even further. The prospect of modeling and painting Ozostium Aranthus, one of the most powerful people on the planet who could well take over Necromunda and change the direction of rule, was appealing.
Also the idea of having a unit within the Enforcers – check them out below – who are charged with investigating the highest lords within the spires, enforcing rules and potentially executing them was also really interesting. I decided to go with a grimdark, grimy look for the models to make them feel grounded, despite their lofty origins.

Dom: I wanted to try something unusual for my Palanite Justicars, so I decided to go for a combination of dark purple, silver and white. The idea was that the colour scheme would make them look regal, befitting the upper spires, but also cold and dangerous.
I used Phoenician Purple as the basis for the clothes. The silver is Stormhost Silver with a layer of Drakenhof Nightshade on top.

Dan: As soon as I laid eyes on this kit, I knew I couldn't pass up the chance to paint such a characterful group of miniatures. Painting each Hanger-on as a standalone miniature would have been an interesting challenge, but I didn’t want them to look out of place alongside my existing gangs, which are painted in a drab fashion with a brighter accent colour. I made sure that shared elements like belts, trousers and boots were all painted in similar colours to ensure they had a uniform-ish look, before picking out the unique elements of the models in an accent colour that felt appropriate to the individual Hanger-on.

Out of all of the miniatures the Ammo-Jack is probably my favorite, but it's really close between her and the Slopper!
Thanks, folks! You can pre-order everything that’s been shown above tomorrow. You’ll also be able to pick up the new Ironhead Squat Charter Masters and Drill Masters, and the Palanite Enforcer Weapons & Upgrades kit as well.
