With the Hour of Ruin upon us, there’s suddenly so many more Skaven that need slaughtering in the Mortal Realms. Even the followers of the God of Murder may need reinforcements, so the Daughters of Khaine are bringing in the elite Blood Hags, with a new battletome in tow.
Blood Hags

As the fighting elite of the Khainite war cults, Blood Hags occupy an enviable position alongside the mobile shrines and sacrificial altars that the Daughters of Khaine carry into battle. They scythe down massed enemy forces like wheat with their two-pronged valthrai polearms, and have perfected their aim with hurled ki’raich blades such that they can wipe out an entire front rank before they even make it into bloody close combat.
Their secondary duty – for all Khainites are of the ‘murder first, do other things second’ persuasion – is to keep the great basins of their shrines topped up with fresh claret, and they’re only too happy to oblige. They take the defence of these magical artefacts very seriously, and will often respond to enemy charges by forming a wall of deadly spearpoints* around their shrine.
Shrine of Dark Tribute

Speaking of great monuments to Morathi-Khaine’s might, behold the new Shrine of Dark Tribute. This extravagant altar is a defiant symbol of Khainite superiority, and can whip nearby allies into a blood-fuelled frenzy that empowers Wizards and Priests beseeching their goddess for magical might.

If you’re not one of Morathi’s biggest fans, and prefer to throw in with Krethusa the Croneseer, you can also assemble the shrine with an icon of Morai-Heg and a smouldering brazier rather than a swirl of animated blood. Then again, announcing your treachery quite so boldly is possibly not a good idea when the Shadow Queen is around…
Battletome: Daughters of Khaine

These new units are joined by a fully updated roster of warscrolls and battle traits in the new Battletome: Daughters of Khaine. As with all battletomes, it’s absolutely packed with background lore, artwork, and miniatures galleries so you can immerse yourself in the way of Khaine while planning out your next Khainite army.
Morathi’s faithful are known for their holy Blood Rites, which are greatly expanded through the battletome’s new battle traits. Now, you’ll anoint a chosen hero who empowers the entire army through completing sacred rites – no surprises that most of them involve someone dying – and passes their unique abilities on to successive champions after death.
Battleforce: Scáthborn Coven

Celebrate the launch of the new battletome by starting a new Daughters of Khaine army or expanding your existing contingent with Battleforce: Scáthborn Coven – the chosen guard of Morathi-Khaine herself. You get the stunning centrepiece presence of the Shadow Queen and Morathi’s aelven form, flanked by five Khinerai Heartrenders and 10 Blood Sisters, both of which can be built as an alternate unit.
Spearhead: Khainite Shadow Coven

The small-scale arena of Spearhead is ideal for fast and deadly close combat specialists like the Daughters of Khaine, and their Khainite Shadow Coven packs loads of killing potential into such a compact force. You get three separate heroes to do the Murder God’s work – a Bloodwrack Medusa, a Hag Queen, and a Slaughter Queen on a massive Cauldron of Blood – while nine Khainite Shadowstalkers and 10 Sisters of Slaughter mop up what’s left with razor-sharp efficiency.
Regiment of Renown: The Crimson Lash

Gladiatorial troupes can be found throughout the lands of Order providing entertainment and deadly spectacle for the masses, and when enemy forces come knocking on the cities’ doors, the ‘performers’ are equally happy to ply their trade on the front lines. The Crimson Lash are one such band, formed of 10 Sisters of Slaughter and a High Gladiatrix, who can be recruited by Cities of Sigmar, Fyreslayers, Idoneth Deepkin, Kharadron Overlords, Lumineth Realm-lords, Seraphon, Stormcast Eternals, and Sylvaneth armies.
We’ll have more from the new Daughters of Khaine soon, including a deep look inside their new battletome and the rules that’ll keep them blood-happy in this new era of absolute carnage. At least Morathi-Khaine seems happy, so the forces of Order** can rest easy for a little while longer.
* A shockingly defence-minded tactic for the typically aggressive Daughters of Khaine.
** Minus those living in Anvilgard Har Kuron.
