Commanders, warlords, generals – take heed! A new season of war will soon be upon us, for in a few weeks’ time, the General’s Handbook 2025-2026 will be unleashed in all its bountiful brilliance upon the Mortal Realms. Insert fanfare here.
Set in the Realm of Life, the upcoming GHB is packed with essential – not to mention very exciting – rules that will enhance your battles of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be teasing you with tasty titbits from the new book, nourishing you with nutritious glimpses of a new way to make war. Sounds wonderful, right?
But that’s not all.
To celebrate this upcoming launch, the Warhammer Studio has unleashed the Scourge of Ghyran. Every day in the run-up to the release, we’ll be featuring new rules and variant warscrolls – something for every matched play faction in the game, all completely free!
Scourge of Ghyran
Scourge of Ghyran variant warscrolls provide you with a new way to play with selected units from each army in the next GHB season. These units have separate points values and can be substituted for that unit’s original warscroll. You can't use both the Scourge of Ghyran variant and the original warscroll for a particular unit in the same army, so choose wisely!
You may also use these variant warscrolls in Armies of Renown, but as Regiments of Renown represent units from a specific time and place in the Mortal Realms they do not use the Scourge of Ghyran warscrolls.
All the rules presented in the Scourge of Ghyran faction updates will be matched play legal when the General’s Handbook is released and will last for the duration of the 2025/26 season.
Come back tomorrow for your first Scourge of Ghyran update. And because the Skaven are the best-best, they’re up first. We’re definitely not biased and they definitely haven’t been bribing us with Warpstone. Promise. Squeak.
