Grove Guardian by Alarielle – the new scent of Life in Ghyran

The Realm of Life is calling. Banish the wear and tear of mortality. Take her hand, and grow from a single seed into a drop of the divine – an ageless spirit in service to a god.

Breathe deep.

Grove Guardian.

Okay, full disclosure, we don’t have the hottest new Valentine’s fragrance* to wow your loved ones with today – in fact, we’ve got something far better. The Realm of Life is buried in Nurgle’s funk, and the best way to freshen it up isn’t by chucking perfume around, it’s by doing terrible things to the corpulent beasts that insist on squatting in Alarielle’s digs.

Cue the Grove Guardian.

These motherly murderesses are charged with nurturing the fallen lamentiri seeds that grow into new Sylvaneth, and if they’re not also the season’s most stylish way to grind Pox-Wretches into paste we don’t know what is. After all, today is all about sharing love with those important to you, and Grove Guardians can’t wait to share how much they love dicing Nurgle’s detritus up with their very important grove sickles.

All jokes aside, this incredible miniature is packed with evocative detail from top to bottom. The Grove Guardian can be seen watering delicate flowers on their jagged branches while a newly formed Sylvaneth slumbers away in a pod, and small critters climb all over the aged wood.

The Grove Guardian will be coming to a war grove near you alongside a new Battletome: Sylvaneth packed with all the usual goodies, from extensive background lore covering the Sylvaneth and their recent conflicts to updated warscrolls for all 25 entries in the army list.

A trio of new boxed sets emerge at the same time, starting with the fearsome Battleforce: Strongroot Grove – a thundering force of tree-spirits that combine awesome battle prowess with immense wisdom, gained over their impossibly long lives. This box contains three Treelords that can alternately be built as Treelord Ancients or Spirits of Durthu, backed up by six Kurnoth Hunters who can be equipped with greatswords, greatbows, or greatscythes.

Next up, show your terrestrial opponents how to rule the skies with a Spearhead force packed with gossamer-winged warriors. The Spitewing Flight dominates the movement game with 12 elite fighters all able to move at spectacular speeds, including an Arch-Revenant, three Revenant Seekers, three Spiterider Lancers, and five Gossamid Archers. They can attack effectively at range or in melee, and love to control the battlefield before moving in for the kill.

Finally, a Regiment of Renown known as the Twisted Branch takes their unique brand of plant-based violence abroad to other factions, assisting against the forces of Nurgle whether they were asked or not. A Branchwych leads the valuable scouting band and offers magical healing to injured Sylvaneth, while the rest of the regiment is taken up by the former Warcry warband known as the Twistweald – eight experienced warriors led by a savage Swarmsage.

All of these new Sylvaneth will be coming out later this year, and we’ll have all the information on release dates and the contents of the battletome here first at Warhammer Community.

* If all that seemed a touch confusing – great! We’ve nailed the ‘perfume advert’ bit perfectly.
