Not ones to be outdone by last week’s Aeldari, the Emperor’s Children have demanded a new Detachment as part of this year’s Grotmas Calendar. Luckily for the Warhammer Studio, one was already on the cards, and it features everyone’s favourite Slaaneshi Daemon Primarch – so he shouldn’t have any reason to kick up a fuss.
Download the new Detachment below, and check out what the Warhammer Studio team said about its enticing new abilities.

Court of the Phoenecian
Many are the Emperor’s Children that seek to join their daemonic gene-sire in his excessive spectacles of sublime artistry. Such warbands often style themselves as Fulgrim’s court, a mocking reflection of the circles of patronised champions he once favoured with his intoxicating presence. These over-stimulated warriors lose themselves in hedonistic battle, aiming to commit exquisite acts of battlefield prowess in the hope of proving themselves worthy of the Daemon Primarch’s fleeting approbation. Lancing thrusts through the enemy lines, too swift for the eye to follow; decapitating strikes against the foe’s commanders; contemptuous disregard for attempts to cut them down – the Emperor’s Children deny themselves no opportunity to bask in the adulation they know is theirs by right. Those courts honoured with the Phoenician’s presence are driven to even greater heights of obsession and excess. The object of their adoration, Fulgrim, leads his corrupted gene-sons in a vibrant pageant of bloodshed, limited only by his warped sense of style and an abhorrence of staid repetition.
This Detachment is open to all Emperor’s Children armies, but it certainly encourages you to use Fulgrim himself. When charging you can give your units +1 Str and +1 AP to their melee attacks. On top of this Fulgrim can make use of two of the best strats in the detachment at a reduced CP cost.
There is a good mix of enhancements. You can let one of your units ignore hit & wound modifiers, you can force battleshock tests in the fight phase, a Foot Daemon Prince can have +1 Str and Attacks, and finally a Lord Exultant can lead Flawless Blades.
Two of the more powerful stratagems are both discounted when you use them on Fulgrim. You can move through terrain in the movement or charge phase, or when attacking a Character unit you can re-roll to hit and wound. The other 4 stratagems let you re-roll charges in an aura, make a Stimulus move towards the enemy (and engage them) if your unit was shot and lost any wounds, -1 to wound for weapons that are stronger than your units toughness and finally provide the detachment buff of +1 to Str and +1 AP to a shooting unit that targets an enemy within 12”.
There’s just one Detachment left behind the doors of the Grotmas Calendar, so can you guess which faction it’ll be? Here’s a hint: They love to decorate their gear with skulls. That should be enough for you to figure it out.
… It’s not? In that case, come back tomorrow and find out for yourself – and check out all the other goodies released from the Grotmas Calendar so far.
