The Tournament Companion is your trusty copilot for competitive Warhammer 40,000

The latest Chapter Approved is an absolute corker, packed with fresh missions, daring asymmetry, whirling Twists, and all-new Challenge objectives that let commanders claw back glory when the scoreline is looking grim. It’s a veritable buffet of battlefield variety – and that’s precisely where the latest update to the Tournament Companion comes in, providing event organisers and players with a clear-headed guide to set expectations and keep things fun, fair and consistent across events.

The Tournament Companion includes a fresh set of 20 mission combinations using the updated primary missions – tried, tested and tuned for unplanned pickup games and tournament matches. It recommends you use the Challenge mechanic (but not Twists or Asymmetric War missions) in tournament play, and refreshes terrain layouts 7 and 8.

A quick word on No Prisoners

One Fixed Secondary Mission does get a gentle tweak for events. In tournaments, No Prisoners is not now taken as a Fixed choice. Why? Because allowing it to ride shotgun with Cull the Hordes or Bring It Down every single round could leave horde and monster/vehicle-heavy armies feeling a little left out of the event meta. Removing Fixed from No Prisoners in tournaments keeps the field diverse and the choice between Fixed and Tactical still consistent and material.

Download, deploy and dive In

The Tournament Companion will be ready to download from the Warhammer Community website the moment the new Chapter Approved lands on Saturday 7th June. Download it to your devices, print it, laminate it and stuff it in your army case – however you wield it, you’ll have a battle-tested roadmap for running, attending and making tons of new friendships at slick, exciting events all season long.

So rally your friends, sharpen those tape measures and get ready for a cracking new chapter of competitive Warhammer 40,000. We’ll see you out there!
