Custom markets and crazy conversions, created by the Necromunda team

Necromunda is a game as much about its wild and unkempt environments as the eclectic gangs that fight among them, and the wide range of terrain kits available – from raised ash wastes hab blocks to rickety stalls and hazardous platforms – make some truly outstanding creations possible.

The team that brings Necromunda to life recently challenged themselves to make a themed marketplace-style area using whatever they could grab, and this is what they came up with.

Adam

Adam combined the aforementioned hab modules, beloved Munitorum Armoured Containers, and other assorted knick-knacks to make something that looks right at home out in the ash wastes, where unrelenting storms scatter all but the toughest or most easily repaired buildings.

Bethany

Bethany built upwards for a vertical stack that doubles as a defensive post, using the imposing Thatos Pattern Fortified Hab Module and a scattering of other bits and pieces mounted on one of the understated but awesome Necromunda floor tiles for display.

Blake S

Blake opted for a more spread-out approach with loads of small scatter terrain, all centered around a majestic Living Saint statue that looks remarkably clean and intact given its surroundings – no doubt a miracle from the God-Emperor himself.

Connor

Connor built his up using the Zone Mortalis sets, combining walls and pillars with plenty of Necromunda barricades and the huge Gang Stronghold set to give his market a fortified look. They appear to be selling (mostly) clean water here, so we don’t blame them for the added security.

Dan

Dan also went for verticality as a big feature of his marketplace, painting it in sombre browns and greys so the place looks almost abandoned – and certainly unsafe. Not much cover on those overhead platforms, we can tell you.

Owen

Can you spot all of the vehicle parts used in Owen’s scrapheap of a market? We’ve got at least one ATV from the Atalan Jackals on the cards, but there’s got to be more among this beautifully chaotic creation.

Rob

Finally, Rob closes it out with a restrained but wonderfully constructed shop built using crumbling platforms and pillars from the Ruined Zone Mortalis set. We’re not sure we’d buy anything from this one, given the risk of falling through the floor, but beggars can’t be choosers in the underhive and it beats setting up shop next to a bunch of promethium tanks.

Have you made your own custom terrain and boards for Necromunda, or any of your favourite Warhammer games? We’d love to see them on Facebook and Instagram, so make sure you share them with us and show off just how grubby and terrible* your terrain can be!
