The latest hardback supplement for Necromunda is nearly with us. Bastions of Law is the last word on the Palanite Enforcers, including new and updated profiles and gear options, and cool new rules from different precincts.
Provost Marshal Rob from the Warhammer Design Precinct is here to explain more.
Rob: We have been able to expand upon the Palanite Enforcers, giving them the benefit of the full ‘House of’ treatment. As Ozostium Aranthus has ripped Necromunda apart in civil war, these defenders of the Pax Helmawr are being forced to operate with minimal support while still fulfilling their oaths.

In this book we get to explore the long history of the Palanite Enforcers, starting with their founder, the Lone Marshal, who was Martek Helm’ayr’s personal bodyguard. Upon Martek’s death, the Lone Marshal created the Palanite Guard – a group dedicated to keeping the Helm’ayr line alive and in power. Bastions of Law then follows the Palanite Guard over the following seven millennia as it grows and evolves into the Palanite Enforcers, Lord Helmawr’s personal army.
We also learn about the ranks and structure of the Palanite Enforcers, from the Lord Provost Marshal down to the lowliest Patrol Officer and the self-sufficient Badzone Enforcers. Finally several of the most (in)famous precinct-fortresses and patrols are covered in greater detail.
Rules
In keeping with previous ‘House of’ books, Bastions of Law collects together and expands all the options available to Palanite Enforcer gangs. In a change from Book of Judgement, to represent the broken supply chains and chaos caused by the Aranthian Succession, they can now control and benefit from Territories like a Clan House gang, though they keep their Palanite Precinct unique Territory.

There are also new weapons added to the list, such as the Repulsion pattern chem-thrower – a template weapon with both the Fear and Gas traits ideal for controlling crowds, and new fighters such as the Haunt – a sanctioned psyker sealed inside a suit of psycho-reactive armour designed to control and focus their abilities.
With this book, players can now also have their patrols hail from one of five different prefectures on Necromunda, with each granting the patrol special bonuses. Additionally the rules for forming an alliance with the Imperial House and gaining access to the fearsome Palanite Companions are also included, as well as an updated Badzones Enforcers gang list.
No book focused on the Palanite Enforcers would be complete of course without an updated Palanite Drill skill set, 18 new gang tactics and two new scenarios focused on how they fight!
Miniatures

We wanted to explore some of the ranks that have been hinted at before. The Haunt was first shown in the Book of Judgement as reporting to a Palanite Captain, and adding them to the gang gave a fantastic opportunity to explore the wyrd. With two main variants, the Psyrender and the Bonecrusher, both types of Haunt are shown in the midst of manifesting their power while fully encased within modified Enforcer armour designed to both focus their power and, if the need arises, shut them down with hexagrammatic wards.

The new Palanite Enforcer Captain expands on the look of the sergeants and patrol officers, showing their increased importance and power with their more elaborate and decorated armour. This was also an opportunity to expand on the weaponry utilised by the Enforcers. Included with him are a pair of Hardcase Cyber-Mastiffs, the first ones we have produced outside of Scrutinator-Primus Servalen.
You’ll be able to pre-order Bastions of Law from this weekend, alongside a new set of Palanite Enforcers Captains and Sergeants, the Palanite Companions and Haunts, a weapons sprue, dice and tactics cards.
