With the Liber Strategia on its way to revolutionise the way you play Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis, the battling in the Warhammer Studio has been thick of late.
We’ve rounded up four fantastic Mechanicum forces that have caught our eye.
James: My force is painted in the bronze livery of the Taghmata Scoria, the personal forces under the command of Archmagos Scoria of Xana – a legendarily fearsome Heretek. These supplement a large force of Dark Mechanicum stalker constructs. I plan to add more Myrmidons and some Thanatar Siege-utomata to the force and maybe even kitbash an epic-scale rendition of Scoria himself to represent another Archmagos on Abeyant.
Connor: I painted my Mechanicum up as traitor Taghmata hailing from Forge World Mezoa. I chose this paint scheme because I liked the pairing of the primary orange and black secondary colours at a small scale. Then I based them in an ash-covered ruins paint scheme. This force is intended to be used as allies to pair with my Word Bearers Legion.
Andy: This Brethren of Iron Support Formation is designed to go along with my larger Ultramarines army. It was very simple to paint – I sprayed the models Leadbelcher, gave them a Nuln Oil wash and a Necron Compound drybrush, then painted the areas that would feature XIIIth Legion heraldry with Asurmen Blue Contrast.
Ant: My Word Bearers are from the Graven Star Chapter and their allies are Dark Mechanicum from the Forge World of Kalibrax. The force is based around the Cataclysm of Iron, utilising a mechanised Demi-company borne in Land Raiders that lead the attack, supported by the firepower of the Kalibrax Stalker Constructs.
