Today’s Grotmas Calendar reveal celebrates the arrival of the latest faction to the Mortal Realms. Not big on gifting, what with their whole Wages of Toil schtick, the Helsmiths of Hashut have begrudgingly prepared a complement of Scourge of Ghyran rules, meaning they are now on a par with the rest of the factions in the Mortal Realms.
War Despots and Daemonsmiths can now rest easy, knowing that they have been blessed by Hashut with new powers. What took him so long? Best not ask, he’s not exactly the understanding type. A note on the Scourge of Ghyran rules – some of the warscrolls have proven incredibly popular, and the Warhammer Design Studio are aware you’ve all been enjoying them. They'll be keeping the most popular units in mind along with your feedback while they work on the future of Warhammer Age of Sigmar – so keep an eye on Warhammer Community for more news and updates next year.

Now onto the rules… The Dominion Hexes of the Domination Force improve the Zharrdron’s ability to Power Through enemy units, and the Smog and Smoke belched forth by the Industrial Polluters make Infantry and Cavalry units harder to see when they cleave close to War Machines.
You can also boost the efficacy of said War Machines with your choice of Accursed Devices, such as advanced Greed Pistons that improve your chances of the machine making a successful charge, or hidden chambers that release steam to scald enemies – which the Helsmiths have named the Breath of Contempt, in typically ostentatious fashion.

Two new warscrolls have also been hammered into shape in their sweltering workshops. The Scourge of Ghyran War Despot makes use of his usually decorative Daemonfire Pistol to shoot into combat at enemies found unworthy of fighting in melee, while simultaneously encouraging his subordinates to reposition themselves quickly and efficiently. He also becomes a focal point for daemonic power, terrifying his underlings into fighting as if they were also empowered.
The Scourge of Ghyran Infernal Cohort with Hashutite Blades retain their daemonic resilience, but have upgraded to Sanctified Gongs, which are sonorous enough to provide extra rally rolls. Despite not serving in the forges, they know their way around the operation of a Deathshrieker Rocket Battery or Tormentor Bombard, and are given permission to disband from their unit in order to ensure these terrifying war machines remain crewed in battle.
