Make your name on the streets as Hive Scum with a new class for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

With the hive city of Tertium under constant siege from the forces of Chaos, the crime lords who are rumoured to truly run the hive are seeing a mild downturn in profits. To ensure that they recoup some of their lost credits, they’ve dispatched Hive Scum to help bring some modicum of stability back to their operations, which means you’ve got a new class to play with in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

Hive Scum are violent fixers who specialise as gunslingers and bladesmiths, either dual-wielding autopistols, stub pistols, and razor-sharp shivs, or cobbling together brutal makeshift weaponry like crowbars and saws to overwhelm their foes in a savage display that will make others think twice about upsetting the criminal underworld.

Their unlawful connections provide them access to a wide range of illicit substances. With a rudimentary knowledge of chemistry and pharmacology – who says crime doesn’t pay?* – they can enhance their abilities with a signature customisable stimm, coat their weapons in vile toxins, and fashion devastating chem bombs.

You can fashion your very own style of fighting with the Hive Scum talent tree, which lets you focus on ranged firepower with your guns and a looted missile launcher, dart in and tear foes apart with abilities before slipping away unharmed, or control them with blinding grenades and other skills. The choice of approach is yours, so long as you’ve got the talent to stay alive.

Every Hive Scum is keen to make their mark on the streets of Atoma, and does so by customising their appearance with full-body tattoos, slick hairstyles, and face paints. You can further reinforce their personality with a choice of six distinct voice sets across three personalities, to create a Hive Scum who commands respect.

The Hive Scum update to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is coming on the 2nd of December – wishlist it now.
