We’re back with the Traitor Legions this week as we move from a band of bloodthirsty superhuman killers with an excellent public image to a band of bloodthirsty superhuman killers who don’t care much how they’re seen – the terrifying World Eaters. We’ve been digging through the Black Books for all the background info you need to get to grips with their savage ways, so if you’ve ever wondered how they actually function as a Legion despite their reputation as mindless berserkers, download the document below and have a read.

Even before the Horus Heresy took hold and the XII Legion fell fully under the influence of Khorne, they were known for their brutality and aggression – largely owing to the martial heritage of Nuceria and the gladiatorial upbringing of their Primarch, Angron. The use of the Butcher’s Nails – an implant that enhanced aggression and combat prowess at the expense of constant pain – only worsened their vicious nature, and soon their name alone became synonymous with bloodshed and slaughter on an apocalyptic scale.
Today’s download collects 17 pages from the very first of the Black Books, Betrayal, released all the way back in 2012. Next week we’ll be sticking with the World Eaters for a short while, and reliving some of their most infamous campaigns in greater detail.
