The epic final episode of Kill Lupercal is now available to watch on Warhammer TV for all Warhammer+ subscribers.
In this climactic finale, a desperate band of loyal titans on the planet march out in the cursed final hours of the Siege of Terra, trying to land the final blow on the Traitor forces.
Here’s a trailer.
Mild spoilers ahead
This is sort of a spoiler, but not really for anyone who is familiar with the full story of the Horus Heresy: our loyal titans don’t manage to kill Lupercal – but that doesn’t mean they don’t go down swinging!
It has been said:
”In truth a Titan has only three enemies against which it must guard: folly, hubris and another of its own kind.”
–Grand Master Volkus
Ordo Sinister
That’s not untrue, but there are a few things even titans need to be cautious of, and we’ve seen a good few in this series.
Shadowswords
Volcano cannon-toting super-heavy tanks such as the Shadowsword are designed as titan killers. A squadron of these will make even a Warlord wary, as we saw in episode 2.

Warships
Titans may be big but even they are dwarfed by the warships of the Imperial Fleet. No titan would willingly stray for long beyond the umbrella of orbital defences if the enemy holds the void above. If you want to see what happens when they try, watch the 2022 Horus Heresy cinematic trailer…
Massed firepower
Any one squad, tank or artillery piece is unlikely to trouble a titan, but everything counts in large amounts. While they happily wade through monsoons of firepower, titans are not quite invulnerable to traditional weaponry, particularly when surrounded. Formations of tanks, massed heavy weapons or concentrated artillery fire can combine to bring one down. A Space Marine Company, properly equipped and in an advantageous position, might do it with a bit of luck.
Close assault
Vulnerable is never a word that fits a titan well, but unsupported and against the right kinds of enemy, titans can be susceptible to a concerted close assault. Knight Lances can cut the legs from even the largest God Machine, while brave jump pack-equipped troops have been known to attempt attacks directly against an armoured cockpit.

Enemy titans
Of course, the most common cause of death for a titan in the Horus Heresy was at the hands of an enemy one. Titan battles could be anything from long-range missile duels across vast distances, to close and brutal melee battles with building-sized power fists and claws. The latter option is more direct, but it’s risky: not only do you have to get very close to an enemy titan to kill it, but fallen titans have a nasty habit of exploding and taking any nearby troops, tanks and city blocks with them.
Maybe we’ll see some spectacular titan deaths in the final episode of Kill Lupercal… There’s only one way to find out.
