The second, epic episode of the Horus Heresy Titan animation Kill Lupercal is now available to watch on Warhammer TV, exclusively for subscribers to Warhammer+.

In Kill Lupercal, we get an unprecedented level of access to the inner workings of a Mars Alpha-Class Warlord Titan. In the first episode, we followed Orla Gemnon of Gryphonicus, as she marshals her crew and her Titan, and marches out with her accompanying maniple.
Commanding a Titan is no mean feat. Where the smaller knights that often accompany them to battle are akin to the brave knights of old-Terra atop a stallion, ridden by a single noble soul on the hunt for glory, the God-Machines of the Titan Legions are altogether different beasts.
The colossal Mars Alpha-class Warlord Titan has a crew of many souls. Enthroned in the Titan’s head is Princeps who is flanked by two crew and backed up from within the Titan by various tech adepts and servitor-slaved systems. The operation of a Titan is more akin to the control of a ponderous battleship than a steed, albeit one with a bellicose mind of its own!
Most Princeps start their service looking like fairly normal humans, as we can see with Princeps Gemnon of Aurora Ferrum in episode 1. But like many careers in the Imperium, the role is demanding, and whether through battle or natural atrophy, many eventually end up entombed in life-support tanks within their Titan.
In freeing themselves from the concerns of mortal flesh, they can become more firmly bonded with the mind of their mighty God-Machine – or so runs the logic.
Such is the case with Princeps Senioris Areum Keeso, whom we meet in episode 2. Keeso commands the mighty Warlord Clavius Dread of Legio Tempestus. This is a proud war machine with an honour roll to match any walking in the 31st Millennium, with its myriad victories displayed across its titanic tabard.
Keeso is an experienced and ancient Princeps who now resides permanently in the amniotic casket at the heart of Clavius Dread.
We see a version of the woman she once was, or could have been, when we see her in her own mind's eye, after the two Titans hard-link their noospheric comms, and they communicate in the liminal space of the mind-impuse unit.
Keeso sits on a throne not unlike that of Orlas – though it’s even more ornate, given her status as Senioris – fully at home and commanding in this otherworldly space.
