Earlier this year we announced the novel Master of Rites by Rob Young – the next story starring Ferren Areios, now the leader of the Ultramarines' Sixth Company. First introduced in Guy Haley’s Avenging Son, and last seen in Nick Kyme’s Hand of Abaddon, Ferren is no stranger to action, and finds no respite in this new tale. We caught up with Rob Young to find out exactly what he put the beleaguered Ultramarine through in Master of Rites. Check out the video interview below.
While Ferren Areios has starred in two previous Dawn of Fire novels, you don’t need to read them to pick up and enjoy Master of Rites. Next week we’ll be providing you with a full and official history of Ferren straight from the Warhammer Studio, so you’ll be ready to jump right in – though you shouldn’t miss out on the Dawn of Fire series if you haven’t read it.
Not content with getting a whole book to himself, the Captain of the Sixth Company is also receiving a miniature too. Striking a commanding pose, he is equipped with a thunder hammer named Honour – perfect for smashing up the putrid Death Guard – and is accompanied by a diligent servo-skull that carries an autoscribe with it, so Ferren can reliably record the martial traditions of his battle brothers, which is part of his job as Master of Rites.

You won’t need to wait too long to get your hands on both the book and miniature, so stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more news.
