Mad Dok Grotsnik – Black Library author Denny Flowers discusses the legendary painboy

Ghazghkull Thraka may be the self appointed prophet of Gork and Mork, but his monstrous mechanical form is not godsent – it’s the result of the maniacal medical expertise of the Mad Dok Grotsnik.

Even among the orkish oddities known as Painboyz, Grotsnik is considered one of a kind, but with the hardback, eBook, and audiobook versions of Grotsnik: Da Mad Dok by Denny Flowers available to pre-order on Saturday, you’ll be able to learn a lot more about him. Denny dropped into Warhammer HQ recently to wax lyrical about all things orky – watch the interview below.

This isn’t Denny’s first time writing about orks and their kin; you can read about Da Red Gobbo vs a Chaos cult – and the one grot who had hoped to take that glory for himself – in the hilarious Da Gobbo’s Demise

Orks are presented in a more terrifying manner in Outgunned, as Imperial propagandist Kile Simlex documents aerial ace Lucille Von Shard’s attempts to turn the tide against a massive Waaagh! threatening to overrun a planet.

Grotsnik: Da Mad Dok presents another facet of Ork Kultur, one that marries their oddness and dark humour with more sinister undertones. Why is he such an oddity amongst the Orks, and what exactly is going on in that twisted mind of his?

You’ll be able to find out for yourself on Saturday, when the title arrives for pre-order.
