Relive ancient rivalries and retro colour schemes in this week’s Warhammer TV episodes

Sometimes you just have to play the hits. Warhammer is built on a foundation of classic rivalries and factions, and this week on Warhammer TV we’ve got three shows each taking a look at something tried and tested in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium.

First up, on Battle Report, it’s Space Marines versus spiky Space Marines as the Iron Knights – an Imperial Fists successor Chapter – take on the dreaded Black Legion in a mission from Crusade: Nachmund Gauntlet. Traitors versus loyalists is as good and honest a game of Warhammer 40,000 as you can get, all that remains to be seen is if the Black Legion continue on their path of destruction, or if the Imperium can stop this new advance.

Sticking with the theme, Alex digs into a more recent battle in this eternal conflict by covering the Plague Wars on Loremasters. The episode delves into the details of the Plague God’s assault on the realm of Ultramar, spearheaded by the Daemon Primarch Mortarion, as well as the battles that ensued and the outcome of this campaign of death and disease.

This week on Citadel Colour Masterclass, Ed is casting his mind back to the days of second edition Warhammer 40,000, which was embodied by bright colours that contrasted with the bloodshed and battle. A tutorial on how to paint the Blood Angels in their vibrant red-with-yellow-accent scheme of yesteryear has us feeling all nostalgic, and it’s full of great tips on getting saturation into your painting.

If you’re not signed up for Warhammer+ yet, then doing so before 11:59pm (UK time) on the 31st of October will enter you into a competition to win a copy of the collector’s edition of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. You can get access to plenty of upcoming competitions and discounts as well as the three new episodes mentioned above, alongside access to a huge library of previous shows and animations, all as part of your Warhammer+ subscription. By signing up for a whole year you also get to choose from one of two brilliant diorama miniatures.
