Coming Soon: Black Library Live 2019 and Gaming Galore

The next few months will see both Warhammer World in Nottingham, UK, and the Warhammer Citadel in Grapevine, Texas, hosting some fantastic events, ranging from Black Library Live to tense tests of gaming skill. Read on to find out all about them, and when you can grab tickets.

Black Library Live 2019

On Saturday the 1st of June, Warhammer World will temporarily cease to ring to the sound of clashing blades and rattling dice. Instead, you’ll hear the shuffling of pages and the low susurrus of engaging conversations between authors and readers – Black Library Live is back!

Black Library Live is a one-day event held at the home of Warhammer, and it gives you a chance to meet Black Library authors, attend seminars, buy new books and more. This year’s highlights include a range of seminars with a wide variety of authors talking about all sorts of fun things (we’ll reveal the full list soon…).

You’ll have the opportunity to meet the authors and have a chat. and they’ll be seated in pairs around the event for you to talk to, get photos with and, of course, get your lovely books signed!

Speaking of books, you will, of course, be able to get your hands on loads of them at the event. As well as all the latest releases, you’ll find a wide range of classic titles and get exclusive early access to some exciting new stories.

In a first for Black Library Live, you’ll also be able to get direct access to members of Black Library’s expert editorial team for one on one advice on how to write the kind of stories Black Library want. This is an incredible resource for any aspiring writer.

Among the authors so far confirmed for the event are such beloved writing heroes as William King, Chris Wraight, Gav Thorpe, Guy Haley, John French, Darius Hinks and Phil Kelly. They’ll be joined by a host of writers newer to Black Library, including Rachel Harrison, Paul Kane, Alec Worley, Graeme Lyon, Nate Crowley and former White Dwarf editor Matt Keefe.

As you can see, there will be no shortage of authors to talk to and activities to enjoy – so keep an eye out for Black Library Live tickets going on sale next Saturday, the 6th of April.

Throne of Skulls Doubles

Later in June, normal service will be resumed in Warhammer World for a pair of doubles events. On the 8th and 9th, the Warhammer 40,000 Throne of Skulls Doubles will see pairs of gamers face all comers in the 41st Millennium. Heroes of the Mortal Realms will face a similar challenge when the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Throne of Skulls Doubles hits tables on the 29th and 30th of June.

Both of these events are fun tournaments where sportsmanship and well-painted armies count towards victory – alongside hard-fought games, of course! With four players on each table, there’s guaranteed to be a warm atmosphere and lots of laughs, making these among Warhammer World’s most popular events. That means they tend to sell out fast, so you’ll want to be ready next Monday, the 1st of April, at 8am when the tickets go on sale.

Enter the Citadel

Not in the UK but still want to take part in some organised gaming fun? Take a trip to Grapevine, Texas, where the Warhammer Citadel has you covered with the second pair of heats of their Matched Play Series. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar event is on 15th and 16th, with Warhammer 40,000 on the 29th and 30th. Each of these is a two-day tournament, and the top players from each will be invited back for the Series Finals later in the year, so competition is sure to be intense.

Tickets for the Warhammer Citadel Matched Play Series Heat 2 go on sale on Wednesday the 3rd of April. Check out the Warhammer Citadel Facebook page for more information.

On Sunday the 7th of April, the Warhammer Citadel will also be running a free School Club Day. This is a chance for educators, parents and young hobby heroes alike to check out what the Citadel has to offer, with demos, open gaming, painting lessons and giveaways – as well as loads of advice on running school clubs and how the Warhammer Citadel can help! Get in touch with the Citadel on Facebook to find out more.
