Black Library Live! Tickets and June’s Previews

It’s that time of the month once again, where we pull back the curtains of time and peer into the future – and the good news is that it’s looking eventful, literally, as tickets to the ultimate one-day Black Library event go on sale this Saturday!

Black Library Live! 2018 will be held on Saturday the 16th of June in Warhammer World. If you’ve never attended a Black Library Live! event, you’re in for a treat – it’s a whole day of sharing your love for the adrenaline-fuelled fiction of the worlds of Warhammer with several hundred like-minded folks. You can attend seminars to hear the authors talk about their books and themes from the Warhammer universes, get your favourite titles signed and chat with the writers and artists who created them. And, of course, there will be plenty of lovely books and CDs for sale (alongside some exclusive merchandise), including pre-release titles.

Speaking of pre-release titles, they will naturally include June’s new releases, some of which we can reveal now.

First up is Book 50 of the Horus Heresy series. ‘Born in Flame’, by Nick Kyme, is the long-awaited collection of all Nick’s shorter Salamanders work from the Heresy. It brings together the novellas Promethean Sun and Scorched Earth alongside the novel Sons of the Forge and a pair of short stories. Together, they form a portrait of what the Salamanders have been doing while Vulkan has been captured, tortured, gone mad, died (repeatedly) and travelled across the galaxy.

Ten thousand years later, another Chapter of green-armoured Space Marines are in action in War of Secrets. This Space Marine Conquests novel by Phil Kelly stars the Dark Angels, fighting alongside their Primaris brethren for the first time. Secrets are revealed, threats rise, and it’s all against the backdrop of a battle against trauma-scarred troops from the T’au Empire.

Meanwhile, the saga of Elysian Sergeant Zachariah continues as he is put on trial for his life in Martyrs of Elysia. This third audio drama in the series from Chris Dows has Zachariah face his greatest ever battle  – convincing a commissar that he’s innocent of cold-blooded murder.

Also in audio, Shadespire: The Shadow in the Glass is an anthology of three stories, originally released as part of last year’s advent calendar. Each of them tells a short tale set in the haunted depths of the Mirrored City as Stormcast Eternals, Bloodreavers and aelves try to attain their goals even as the city itself seeks to stop them.

Two omnibus editions of classic tales round out the month, as David Annandale’s Commissar Yarrick novels Imperial Creed and Pyres of Armageddon (and seven short stories, plus the novella Chains of Golgotha) are collected together for the first time in Yarrick: The Omnibus. C L Werner’s classic Matthias Thulmann: Witch Hunter trilogy is also re-released in a new paperback edition, bringing a touch of witch hunting madness to the Warhammer Chronicles range.

You can find out more about all of these titles, and more from the next few months, on Black Library’s Coming Soon page now. And be sure to check back on Saturday, when you can pick up your tickets for Black Library Live! 2018. They’re limited in number, so be sure to grab yours while you can.
