Coming to a Black Library near you…

It’s that time again, when we peer into the Shadeglass and see reflections of the future to come. That’s right, we’re looking at forthcoming Black Library titles, and this month we’re seeing what March 2018 has to offer.

First up is a new Primarchs novel in its initial limited edition form. Jaghatai Khan: Warhawk of Chogoris is by Chris Wraight (author of Scars and The Path of Heaven, which also star the Khan) and shows the pull between duty and personal beliefs that characterises the Khan. It’s focused on the implementation of the Librarius in the Legions, and the conflict this causes – sounds fascinating to us.

Equally fascinating is the return of Nagash to the Mortal Realms in the aptly titled Nagash: The Undying King by Josh Reynolds. In the Realm of Death, the Rictus clans are battling the forces of Nurgle, and even the intervention of the Mortarchs isn’t holding back the pustulent tide. Where is Nagash? When will he step in to save his people? Guess we’ll have to wait until March to find out.

There are also a pair of Warhammer 40,000 Adeptus Astartes novels. Ashes of Prospero is the second Space Marine Conquests book and follows a force of Space Wolves led by Njal Stormcaller as they return to the ruins of Prospero, the original home world of the Thousand Sons, in search of a cure for their recent ills. Gav Thorpe is the author of this one, and it ties into some of his Horus Heresy work… You can also find out more about the Space Marine Conquests range here.

Next up is Carcharodons: Outer Dark by Robbie MacNiven, a sequel to the lauded Red Tithe. This volume sees the famously inhuman Space Marines forced to work alongside the common folk of the Imperium in an attempt to fend off a tendril of a tyranids hive fleet. With monsters all around, how will the humans cope?

Finally, Titan’s Bane is an Astra Militarum audio drama by Chris Dows that takes place in the cramped confines of a damaged Shadowsword, where the vehicle’s commander must keep her crew safe – from each other as much as the enemy.

You can find out more about these, and other forthcoming titles, on blacklibrary.com, and order other books and audio dramas to get you through the months until you can get your hands on these.
