September White Dwarf Preview – 30 Years of Warhammer 40,000

Warhammer 40,000 is 30 years old in September! Can you believe it? There’s a bumper White Dwarf on the way to celebrate. As well as all the previews, battle reports and hobby content you love, there are two exclusive posters: one featuring an awesome reimagining of the classic Rogue Trader cover art, and the other celebrating the imminent release of Total War: Warhammer II.

Inside, you’ll find detailed previews of the next month of new hobby, and there’s loads of awesome stuff on the way. This is your chance to get up-close and personal with the fantastic new Mortarion model, including a detailed interview with studio painter Max Faleij, who spent 35 straight days painting this latest Daemon Primarch!

Elsewhere in the 41st Millennium, and the magazine, there’s a desperate battle between the Crimson Fists and the Orks, as the White Dwarf team re-enact the battle for Rynn’s World, while in the second report, Chaos dukes it out with a combined force of Space Marines.

There’s also a look at the history of Warhammer 40,000, with loads of rare and classic art and insights into how the 41st Millennium has grown, changed and improved over the years!

There’s some great content for painters, converters, and modellers too. With the latest installment of A Tale of Four Warlords coming to a close, there’s a look at the completed armies of our intrepid hobbyists; each of them is a splendidly painted testament to their commitment and drive (and a great inspiration if you’ve got an army you’ve not got round to finishing yet!).

For Warhammer Age of Sigmar fans, there’s a close look into what the new General’s Handbook means for your army. There’s also the General’s Almanack, where White Dwarf’s Dan Harden takes a look at playing in character as your general.

Meanwhile, in Kitbash, there are some ideas for converting warlords of your own, with top tips on building a Wight Knight on Skeletal Steed, plastic Skaven Arch-Warlock and many more…

We’ve just scratched the surface of what you’ll find in this month’s White Dwarf – make sure to pre-order your copy of September’s issue on or subscribe now to get yours delivered to your door every month.
